About 1.5 years ago I was in the market for getting place of my own, like any 25 year old guy still living in his parents house. My girlfriend at the time found an unnamed Realtor in Dutchess county for me to use. There was always something a little fake with him but never saw it rear its ugly head until it came time to start talking money. He was pushing me into looking at houses only at the upper extreme of what I could afford. In addition he was very rushy and didn't give me much time to think about what will be my largest investment of my life. Due to this type of relationship, I never fully trust his judgment so I didn't stay with him. He never really asked me what my interests were, nor lead me to believe he even thought I would ever settle on buying anything. Once he was dropped like a hot potato I was introduced to Larry Jensen. I had a preconceived notion of what I thought Realtors were like now, but luckily I was proved otherwise immediately. He not only took the time to help me, he genuinely cared about finding me a place that would be best for me, disregarding the cost of the house. While I was at sea, still trying to find a place, he would call or text me with information about different listings and when I would return he had a whole portal of places to look at that he knew I would find interesting...basically streamlining the house hunt for me! HUGE stress relieve! He knew I was big into cars, so garage was a must. He then after looking at countless houses all over Dutchess and even Putnam county, came up with the idea of a townhouse for me would be most suitable due to me being at sea for over 6 months a year. He found me a few different townhouses in Dutchess and as soon as he took me to my present home, I fell right in love with it. Its exactly what I need and has room to grow. He never rushed me when it came down to the dollars and cents. He took the time to thoroughly explain all the lingo that goes into closings and loans, he guided me to different banks to try to find the best interest rates available for me. Overall, and honestly, I would recommend him to any of my friends or family. He's an absolute pleasure to work with; there is a friendship I would say we made as well, being that it did take some duration of time until I found what truly wanted to buy. Last but not least after the closing, I receive postcards from him reminding me to change my batteries in smoke detectors, best wishes during holidays, even my "one year anniversary at the house. I know its not the most professional word, but he's an absolute rock star!

St. Lawrence Properties is absolutely the best anyone could ask for in a real estate company. I personally had the pleasure of working with Larry Jensen. Larry was professional, knowledgeable, timely and friendly. Believe me I had a lot of questions and every step of the process was a struggle for me. If something could go wrong it went wrong with me. Larry truly went above and beyond anything I could ask. If i had a question about anything, be it a mortgage question, tax question, home structure anything he was patient and informative. One of the most important factors to me when working with Larry was when I called for any reason day or evening weekdays or weekends if he was able to answer he always, always got back to me quickly. He stops at nothing to get the best deal and follows through to the end. Even still 2 months after my home purchase Larry checks up to see how things are going and if there is any more he can do to help. I would total recommend Larry to anyone and everyone and certainly if I ever buy again I would only work with Larry. Simply put he is truly amazing! Alysha~Hillsdale NY March 30, 2010

I had to sell my house quite quickly and I had a friend that recommended St Lawrence Properties as a real estate agency. Larry Jensen then came into my life and sold my house in two days!! He is wonderful and very pleasant to work with. I recommend St Lawrence and specifically Larry to anyone who is in need of an agency that will be there night and day for their clients. Madaline W

Hi Larry, I just read your blog post "What is a Buyer's Agent and why you should never work with a Dual Agent?" http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/blogs/st-lawrence-properties/9594/show / Beside it being a very good read, especially for first time home buyers who are new to the terminology, it is good to know that agents like yourself, take the time to explain this in more layman's terms for those of us who don't deal with this on a day to day basis. I always thought of Real Estate agents as sales people (even when acting as buyer agents) because I always thought that the agent's priority is closing a deal as soon as possible for their commission whether it was a purchasing deal or selling deal. This then lead to questions like, "What is in it for the agent to take their time with a client in helping them find the best possible home? After all, wouldn't they make their commission anyway if the buyer purchased the first home they looked at or the hundredth?" I always thought that Real Estate agents were like the Best Buy salesperson that wants to sell you every HDTV in their stock and tells you that every subsequent HDTV is better then the last. Being biased this way of course makes we wary all the same. This, of course, didn't happen all by itself or by sheer paranoia. About 5 years ago, when Jenny was still a stay-at-home mom and we only had my income which was less than it is now, I was introduced to a Real Estate agent from a trusted source. The agent showed great interest in wanting to showing us homes. Although, I knew that we weren't financially ready to take on a mortgage, I entertained the idea of being a first home owner. We then got pre-qualified and began looking for homes. We found a home that we had some interest in but was way to expensive for us at the time (just about every home was way too expensive in that market). Just doing basic budgeting calculations, we just simply didn't have enough income for the mortgage of most houses during that market. I knew that it was impossible for us to do. However, conveniently, the agent had a lender that he worked with that would "help us get in that home" by use of co-signers, etc. Luckily I knew that it was time to wait until we had more income so that we could actually afford to buy a house. I'm sure glad to not be in the shoes of those that already lost or are about to lose their houses because they didn't know they wouldn't be able to afford their houses. Of course it's not the fault of the lenders or even the agents, that probably knew in some cases, that their clients were way in over their heads. After all it's our financial responsibility as buyers to know whether we can afford to buy or not. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I need to work with an agent that I know I can trust. Both Jenny and I feel that we would like that agent to be you. We hope that you can work with us in helping us find the best possible home we can. Looking forward for Friday. See you then. Thanks, Marco

As a new buyer, I was very particular about what type of home I was seeking. Larry Jensen really worked at showing me homes that would be of my interest. Additionally, Larry was very good about working with my difficult schedule.I thoroughly enjoyed my first home buying experience thanks to St. Lawrence Properties. Leah P.

Before we considered house hunting for the second time in a 3 year period we had decided to really do the homework, studying “how to books” and all. I interviewed quite a few realtors in order to find the best I could, and with Larry, even still, Veronika and I were certainly lucky to find him. Larry Jensen was exceptionally professional, always accommodating and had an especially refreshing capacity for honesty. It was at the outset, why we felt at so ease when teaming up together with him to realize our dream of home ownership. Yet, that’s not the half of it. He was truly in our corner; moreover, managed to demonstrate accountability for getting us to our goal. Larry Jensen was wholly savvy when dealing with others in the business. When something was in question, Larry found out the answers. He was knowledgeable not of just process, but of architectural, environmental and structural aspects. He guided us past pitfalls, complexities and roadblocks; step by step, all the time encouraging. Larry’s guidance was wholly reliable, engaged and practiced. He even babysat our 9 month twins when we did our viewings. There is no easy way to say this, if you don’t use him, or at least call him to talk; you’re out of our mind. By any assessment, as far as we are concerned; He was remarkable. Al & Veronika M (Nadya & Victor Too!)

I was selling my coop and had interviewed a few local REALTORS when I wrote Larry about references for local attorney’s who practice in Real Estate in my area since he was in the industry; he asked where I resided and I told him Northern Westchester County; he advised me that was part of his territory (I was under the impression his territory was Dutchess County only) and he asked for a meeting and after the meeting I knew he was the one I wanted to represent me. Larry’s kindness, knowledge of the market and most of all honesty and frankness is why I decided to hire Larry. In my situation, initially, I didn't want to sell and Larry understood that and took the time to understand the reason’s why and told me that I would be OK. He was always there to ask questions and listen to my concerns. I honestly can RECOMMEND using Larry Jensen and St. Lawrence Properties and he can always use me as a reference. Larry needs to get a license to sell Real Estate in the Caribbean because one day I will own a place there and he needs to represent me!!! Karon L
