Rhinebeck, Ny with a population of 8,000, is a busy place on summer weekends — tourists and day-trippers are attracted to antiques and crafts outlets and Hudson River scenery — and the rumored Clinton wedding isn't shutting things down.

Chelsea Clinton, 30, daughter of former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, is expected to marry Marc Mezvinsky, 32, at a riverside estate in Rhinebeck on Saturday.

For those that live here, we know there will be quite a few people in town this Saturday, but as State Police Maj. Michael Kopy said Thursday, the influx of guests, reporters, celebrities and curiosity seekers wouldn't come close to the crowds at the Dutchess County Fair. Its been a very busy week especially for a holiday week. Buyers are Buying and Sellers are selling. I try not to conduct business on holidays, but it was difficult this July 4th as a back accepts an offer on a Saturday night. Yep, even the bankers are working round the clock these days.

Though I attempted to go on vacation Thursday, I quickly had to change my plans and postpone that date as I had one buyer get an Accepted Offer, A seller decided to list their home that day and another buyer decided it was time to submit an offer on a property they had previously seen. So Thursday quickly became Friday and even then I barely got out the door in time.

Negotiations continued right through the weekend including July 4th. I marked the end of vacation…

Independence Day 2010. The United States of America turns 234 years old this weekend. 234 years! In the big picture America is barley a teenager compared to how old many of the other countries are. Yet in 234 years, look at what we have accomplished as a Nation.

Do we have our problems, you bet we do! Just as any family has problems. Our ideals were simple and to that we still hold true today. Yes, we will always have our struggles but with that we also achieve accomplishments beyond belief.

Let's think back a few hundred years ago. What was life like? No doubt, it is better now than then. But what I really want to remember is what our forefathers went through to create this country.
